Getting Started: Your First Day

You’re probably wondering how to get started playing Pokémon Paradise RPG. After you choose your region and select a starter, what’s there to do? I’ll talk about the Dashboard and Menu first and then go into more detail about PokéPara’s features. But if you want to jump right in, find Explore in the menu, click or tap Route 1, and you can start catching Pokémon! Be on the lookout for Paradise Pidove! Continue reading if you want a more in-depth guide to the game.

Dashboard

Your dashboard shows you all your important information. You can find your account stats, quests, items, currencies, gemstones, and recent blog posts. Your account stats include your Trainer ID, your number of Pokédex entries, your number of Pokémon, badges, quest points, login streak, and your party. Your Trainer ID is unique and belongs to you. You’ll need to share this with other players if you want to trade.

Quests are a fun way to earn money, items, and even Pokémon. Be sure to view the quest information and accept the quest to track your progress. Come back and complete the quest to receive your reward!

You can track your items, currencies, and gemstones here. Items are pretty self-explanatory, but what about currencies and gemstones? Currencies include Poké Dollars and Spheres. Poké Dollars are used to purchase items from shops. Spheres are used for special shops that will become available later. Gemstones are a core concept of Pokémon Paradise. Each gemstone correlates to a Pokémon type and is required to prestige your Pokémon. Learn more about the prestige system below.

Prestige System and Gemstones

Prestige… like Call of Duty?

Yes! When a Pokémon reaches level 100, you can choose to prestige, resetting its level to 5. Every prestige level will allow you to advance five additional levels, so the next time around, you can reach level 105, and then 110, and so on. Keep in mind that you’ll need more experience for each level every time you prestige a Pokémon. Every prestige will also give you a +1 boost to all six IVs. To prestige a Pokémon, it costs gemstones. The first prestige level costs 105 gemstones. Each subsequent prestige will cost an additional 5 gemstones. Oh, did I forget to mention prestige auras? You’ll have to prestige a Pokémon to find out!

What the heck are Paradise Pokémon?

Paradise Pokémon are like regional forms that you can only find here on Pokémon Paradise RPG. They are hand-drawn sprites by MissBirdBrain. Some of them will have shiny variants, and some may only be available as a shiny variant. We also have holiday-themed Pokémon like Halloween Murkrow or Christmas Snorlax. Some Paradise Pokémon are only available for a limited time, so be sure to catch them all!

Exploring Maps

Each map has its own unique list of Pokémon, items, gemstones, and currencies available, and they all have different rarities. For example, on Route 1, each Pokémon has an equal chance of appearing at 10/175 odds, with Paradise Pidove being slightly rarer at 5/175. Other maps don’t share the same equal odds for every Pokémon. You can find more information about maps in their designated blog posts.

That’s all for now! See you next time.
