Hey all, we would really like to have your input on the next update. You can choose one or the other, but not both. We are working on a major update to the game that I'll go into more detail at the bottom of this post, but we want to release one of these in the meantime.

1. New Battles: Elite Four and Legendary Challenges
These two kind of go together, since you usually need to wipe the floor with the E4 before you can get to Mewtwo and the other legendary Pokémon. The Elite Four + Champion would function similar to gyms, where you would need to take them on in order. Upon defeating the Champion, you'll be able to access Legendary Challenges.

Legendary Challenge is exactly what it sounds like. It's going to be brutal. There will be a prestige cap. Your Pokémon will enter the battle at their current level or whatever the cap is, whichever is lower. It will be a minimum of 12 Pokémon before you face the Legendary Pokémon. Mewtwo will be the first Legendary Challenge. You will have the option to defeat or capture the Legendary Pokémon. Defeating them will give you a one of a set of rare items.


2. Johto: New Maps and Gyms
Well, it is what it sounds like. We are going to introduce new maps and gym leaders to challenge. These new maps and gyms will replace the current ones, and in the future, will be replaced by Hoenn maps and gyms. This will continue until we go through each region, and end up back in Kanto with those maps and gyms. This means that only one region at a time will be playable. The new maps will feature unreleased Pokémon, day/night cycle, and the current day of the week will also play a role, just like in GSC. (Looking at you Friday Lapras)


Now that that's out of the way, onto the next major update.

Open world-ish and Secret Bases
The next major update will be walkable maps. We're still undecided if this will totally replace the current map system or if we'll have both. This will be a huge update and take some time. Quests are likely to be reworked into this update. There will be some standalone maps and a larger world that will grow with time. Secret Bases will also be part of this update! You'll be able to decorate your own little secret base for others to visit and even find new Pokémon! Think of it as a hybrid between Secret Bases and Friend Safaris.
